As I mentioned in my previous post, the quilts for the AQS Ultimate Guild Challenge were due last night at the guild I belong to. There were 7 entries, including mine. And they were GREAT. Everyone who brought one did wonderful artistic work. But we will not be entering the contest this year. In previous years we have been in the AQS show (4 out of 5 times, in fact) so we should be proud of ourselves and let some other guild have a chance this year.
I gave out "Golden Spool" awards and will post photos of those and my quilt soon.
The bathroom is as done as it's going to get for now and work is piling up. As ever, stay tuned!!

Trying to be a good blogger
It is hard sometimes to stay current with this blog. Work is consuming much of my free time (whatever that is) since I'm caring for Vincent a lot.
The dreadfulness of my hovel has gone beyond my tolerance so I'm trying to do something to make the bathroom look like modern people live here!! The new potty helped and I changed the yucky handle that came with it to a nicer one that matches the sink faucet handles. The walls are in BAD shape and need lots of work. Demolishing the entire space is out of the question right now. So I feel like I'm putting a band aid on a compound fracture, but it's better than doing nothing.
That bathroom is SO bad I won't even take a "before" photo, but I will take one when the work is done. Stay tuned!
Art quilt-wise, I must finish the piece for the Ultimate Guild Challenge. Hopefully that won't be a total bust---only 6 people have said they are committed to doing a quilt. There will be a posting on Feb.25 on this subject. I may be going down in flames as chairperson of the challenge committee at the guild.
