Graduation dress

More photos of the dress in progress. The graduate came by to try on--final fitting--and I asked permission to show the dress in it's final stages. I don't know why I didn't ask sooner. It suddenly seemed like an invasion of privacy for some reason. But she seemed flattered I was showcasing her dress, so I am relieved now that I have not made a huge mistake starting such a thread as the anatomy of this dress.

Progress

As promised here some photos of the graduation dress as it comes to life. These are the pattern pieces I am using. They are made from the fitting muslin. These will be cut from Swiss batiste and assembled and embellished with lace. Notice the red lines drawn on the front and back bodice pieces. I have cut that away for the actual neckline. Next time I will post photos of the dress with some of the lace sewn on.

Flying Time

No, I'm not going anywhere--but I just realized it's been two weeks since the last post.
Lots of progress on getting this labor finished and outta here. Minor setback with stomach virus or food poisoning--yucky!!!
I have been taking pictures of the grad dress in progress and promise the next post will be an update on that. I got quite a lot done on it yesterday and the girl was able to come for a fitting at a moment's notice. I love it when the planets align in my favor.

March 2010

The theme for the next quilt for the online challenge is "Passage" and I have not had time to go anywhere near this because I have to be in "work" mode right now. Must have $$$$. My job has eaten my brain.
At least I have til April 22nd so it's not like it has to be done next week. Whew!! maybe next post will have photos of the ongoing grad dress and further progress on the online challenge.
