Guild challenge

The quilt guild I belong to had a challenge for the Ultimate Guild Challenge contest that AQS shows at their Knoxville exhibit/exposition (whatever they call it). There was a huge turnout from the members--17 quilts were entered. The membership voted on the eight that will entered for consideration in the contest. Alas, mine was not chosen. But I can show it now.
I like it and had fun making it. Discharge paste is my favorite art supply right now. Adding hand stitching with pearl cotton gives an extra dimension and texture and I do like the way it looks.

Changed my mind

After thinking about what I had written on the back of the challenge quilt, I decided it was waaaaay too personal for the internet. TMI. This is why I'm not on FaceBook anymore either. It amazes me how much personal info is put on those social networking sites. Phone numbers, home address. It must be really easy to be a private detective these days.

Reveal week

The 2010 online challenge quilts are being shown this week. Click on the badge to see postings of the other challenge participants works.
This is the quilt I made. It's named "Puzzled by Love-Missing Pieces". There is stuff written on the back to explain what I was thinking, which I will post next time as I cannot remember what I wrote. That's why we write things down isn't it--to keep all that crap from cluttering up our brains???
Some of the black spots are empty spaces-something I had never done in a quilt before. Kinda fun to cut a hole in a quilt.

No news on sales at the art show but here is a photo from the opening. I did not take pictures of other artists works as I didnot have permission.
And here is the Green Eyed Monster quilted and her sister.
