Serendipity strikes again!!!!!
The Crafters Choice envelope arrived Saturday. My first impulse was to put it directly into the recycling bag, since I had already replied to them via their website. But sometimes they offer an outstanding value on a book I MUST have, so I looked through the flyers and wouldn't you know it. On the front of the one with all the gardening books, there's a picture of the plant I've been trying to identify for all these years. Caltha palustris. Now I can research further to discover the other properties of this heretofore mystery plant. The book that was offered at cc was a book on animal resistant plants. And I just thought my plant was pretty.

Does anyone know???
Here's the flower growing in my yard that has not been identified. If any keen gardener should happen to know what this is please leave a comment so that I'll know too. You don't have to be that keen, either, just nice and willing to share a small bit of info. Or not even nice just willing to share. I guess that covers that!!
Yes I do know that the white flower is a jonquil. It is so pretty I had to include it in this post.

Spring is nearly here
And I feel like I'm missing out on some prime digging time with all the blasted inside work that's has to be done!!!! I will make a point of going out this weekend to photograph all the beautiful blooms coming up and especially to get a picture of a spring ephemeral that I cannot identify. Maybe a reader can tell me what this plant is. It will be gone soon so time is of the essence!!

Update redux
The Latest update
The snow has come and gone (thankfully). Spring is trying to come but colder temps are predicted for later this week. The jonquils are blooming and seem more beautiful than last spring--but I say that every spring.
Of course, I haven't taken any photos of the flowers yet, but have finally got the ones from other activities downloaded. And, of course, I forgot my camera at the guild meeting to photograph the challenge quilts. But one of the quilters did and posted to her blog. I think it's www.lotsofquilts.blogspot.com try that.
