Warty Pumpkins

An article in the newspaper today had the name of the unusual pumpkins with warts. They're called knuckleheads. The article went on to say how that particular trait in squash was bred out because it is not attractive for something you may want to eat, but pumpkin farmers embraced it for those of us who want crazy looking decorations. There's a photo of one on an earlier post. It is sitting on the bench with some strange looking gourds.
